The journey to achieve success in life is a long voyage that needs a lot of effort and hard work while overcoming hurdles. On this journey, each step that we take gives us a sense of achievement which boosts our morale to work harder and achieve something greater in life.

I believe that when a person sets foot on the path called career, then we start writing a whole new chapter in our lives. My first step in this chapter is with Osmosys, which has helped me achieve a sense of belonging in a brand-new world of projects and works.

Osmosys is a well-established organization situated in India, London, and Canada. That offers leading consultancy and implementation expertise which helps in driving value across different businesses. Its design-led approach, client-centric vision, and result-focused team are adding value to multiple businesses around the globe.

Roles and Responsibilities over 16 weeks as an Intern

In the beginning, the internship covered introductions to various technical domains because at Osmosys we believe that having a basic understanding of several domains makes us better team member that is capable of somewhat understanding others' work and also allows adapting new work relatively faster.

Initially, I was trained in web development with the basics of HTML/CSS, and JavaScript, side by side, I also went through some sessions of manual testing procedures. After which I started training in C# and .NET applications. Later, I was given knowledge transfer sessions on the .NET framework-based backend Web API application and one of the core projects of Osmosys, Incident Reporter 365, which covered the use cases of the project, and how things were designed in the backend. Simultaneously, I was trained on Microsoft Dynamics 365, for about a month, where I covered the basic usage of CRM platforms. After the KT sessions of the project, I officially started developing APIs for the main project and was assigned to resolve several existing bugs to further boost the efficiency of the project as a whole.

Learnings

Through this journey, I improved my basics of web development and its practical usage in projects. I further learned about manual testing and learned about manual validations and the work process of the testing team. I also learned about .NET MVC models, object-oriented programming with C#, and creating Web APIs that interact with databases to perform multiple actions required by an application. My learnings also include the basic usage and importance of CRM software like Microsoft Dynamics 365 for any organization.

Personal Growth and Challenges

Working on one of the core projects of the organization and developing APIs in it, helped me to broaden my view of working on projects as a team. Learned about the soft skills required in the industry like analytical ability, presentational skills, and problem-solving approaches.

The most challenging part was managing multiple tasks, finding optimal approaches to resolve different issues, managing time to complete assigned tasks on Web API, and fixing bugs to boost the productivity of the project.

Conclusions

The Internship with Osmosys boosted my technical growth and taught me multiple things. I learned about different industrial projects and gained experience working on Web API-based backend applications.
